1. Surface Cleaning

Frequency: A comprehensive cleaning is recommended every 6 to 12 months; for coastal areas or regions with high industrial pollution, this interval should be shortened to every 3 months.

Method: Rinse with low-pressure water to remove accumulated dust, salt deposits, or corrosive particles. For stubborn stains, use a neutral detergent applied with a soft cloth.

Prohibitions: Strictly avoid using high-pressure water jets at close range. Furthermore, strictly avoid using strong acidic or alkaline detergents, steel wool, or other hard objects, as these may scratch and damage the anti-corrosion coating.

2. Coating Inspection and Repair

The service life of a single-layer steel panel depends heavily on its surface coating.

Scratch Treatment: If the underlying metal substrate becomes exposed, it must be treated immediately. First, remove any rust, then apply the corresponding touch-up paint.

Chalking Inspection: Observe the coating for signs of chalking (powdering), peeling, or blistering. If these issues appear over a large area, it indicates that the coating has reached the end of its service life, and you should consider repainting the panels or replacing them entirely.

3. Inspection of Connectors and Fasteners

Single-layer panels are secured using self-tapping screws or rivets; these components must not be overlooked during maintenance.

Sealing Gaskets: Inspect the rubber gaskets around the screw heads for signs of aging or cracking. If a gasket fails, rainwater may seep through the screw hole, leading to corrosion of the internal structural framework.

Loose Fastener Check: Before and after seasons with strong winds, check the panels for any wobbling or unusual noises. Loose panels subjected to wind forces can create a "tearing effect," which enlarges the screw holes.

4. Drainage and Joint Treatment

Gutter Cleaning: Ensure that the drainage channels or water guides located at the bottom of the panels are free of accumulated leaves and silt. Stagnant water can cause the lower edges of the panels to remain damp for prolonged periods, leading to latent corrosion.

Sealant Application: Inspect the weather-resistant silicone sealant at the panel overlaps and at the junctions where the panels connect to door frames. If cracking is detected, the old sealant must be removed and reapplied to prevent water leakage.
