Medical Automatic Swing Door

What is the working principle of the Medical Automatic Swing Door?

Simply put, when in operation, our Medical Automatic Swing Door follows a specific sequence: approach detection → intelligent sensor triggering → motor-driven opening → hold-open delay → slow, automatic closing → sealed reset. The entire process is fully automatic and contactless.

1. Signal Triggering

When a person approaches or an "open door" command is issued, the system receives the signal. It supports various triggering methods—including human body sensors, push buttons or foot switches, and access control card systems—to determine whether the door needs to be opened.

2. Control System Processing

Upon receiving a signal, the automatic door controller performs a logical assessment. It evaluates the current door status, checks for potential safety risks, and verifies whether the conditions for opening have been met; based on this assessment, it transmits the appropriate commands to the drive system.

3. Motor-Driven Opening

A transmission mechanism drives the door leaf to rotate around its hinges, allowing the door body to swing open smoothly—either inward or outward. The opening angle is adjustable, with a standard setting of 90 degrees.

OWNIC’s medical doors utilize a "soft start" and "soft stop" mechanism during the opening and closing cycles to ensure smooth, shock-free operation.

4. Hold-Open State

Once opened, the door does not close immediately; the system allows for an adjustable hold-open duration, providing sufficient time for personnel or equipment to pass through.

However, please note: aside from the frequent opening and closing tests required during the project commissioning and verification phase, users should endeavor to avoid frequent, rapid cycling during daily operation.

5. Automatic Closing

Once the preset delay period has elapsed, the automatic door's control system issues a "close" command. The motor reverses direction to drive the door body shut, returning it to its original, closed position.

6. Safety Detection and Feedback

During the closing process, the safety system remains continuously active. Anti-pinch sensors monitor for obstructions; if an obstacle is detected, the door automatically stops or reverses direction to prevent injury to personnel or damage to equipment.

FAQ

Q: Do your medical automatic swing doors support contactless operation?

A: Yes, OWNIC medical automatic swing doors support various contactless opening methods—including foot sensors, hand-wave sensors, and radar sensors—effectively minimizing the risk of cross-infection.

Q: How does the door react when it encounters an obstacle?

A: If the door encounters an obstacle while closing, its built-in anti-pinch mechanism will immediately detect it and halt the closing motion. Simultaneously, the door will automatically reverse and open to prevent injury to people or damage to objects.

Q: What happens in the event of a fire or other emergency?

A: OWNIC medical automatic swing doors feature an emergency power-off release function. In the event of a fire or power failure, the electromagnetic lock automatically disengages, allowing the door to be manually pushed open for evacuation.

Certain models also offer a 90° emergency breakout hinge design to further enhance evacuation efficiency; please contact us for customization options.
