What is an Automatic Door Function Selector?

An Automatic Door Function Selector is a hardware control device used to switch the operating modes of an automatic door. Typically installed as part of the automatic door control system—often in the form of buttons or a key switch—it allows users to select from various door operating modes.

By utilizing this selector, users can rapidly switch between multiple modes, thereby achieving a flexible balance between operational requirements and safety needs. Furthermore, it can be integrated with other automatic door accessories—including safety sensors and door operator systems—to ensure safe and secure operation.

Operating Modes

To facilitate rapid control and status adjustment, our Automatic Door Function Selector offers four primary control modes, which can be directly adjusted via buttons to suit the specific operational requirements of the door.

Automatic Mode: The default setting for standard operation; the automatic door functions with normal bidirectional sensing—opening when a person approaches and closing when they depart.

Internal Lockout: Permits entry only for external personnel; the internal sensors remain inactive.

External Lockout: Permits exit only for internal personnel; the external sensors remain inactive.

Total Lockout: Both internal and external sensors are deactivated, and the electric lock is engaged; access is restricted to authorized magnetic cards, fingerprints, or keys.

Installation Location Recommendations

When installing the Automatic Door Function Selector, it is recommended to position it at a height of 1.4m to 1.5m above the floor. This height aligns with an adult's natural line of sight while effectively preventing accidental activation by young children.

Horizontally, the unit should be positioned approximately 10cm to 20cm away from the door frame, installed on the interior wall surface on the side toward which the door opens.

Prior to installation, please verify that the selected mounting location will not be obstructed by the door leaf during its sliding or swinging motion.

If your project utilizes a "Double Steel Wall Panel" system, flush mounting is recommended to maintain a smooth, seamless wall surface and minimize the risk of impact damage from carts or trolleys.

If the installation involves a glass partition system, you may opt to use a dedicated glass-clamp mounting box or install the unit directly onto an adjacent aluminum alloy vertical post.
